Version 1:

This is a mime game.

Number Of Players

This game is for two people.

Suggestions Taken

Normally some action is requested. Anything from a sport to an every day activity.

How It Is Played

One person is given a microphone off scene, and the other performer takes center stage. Person 1 proceeds to make all of the noises that are needed for every action the person on stage performs. This includes the objects the person handles and impetus for them to act (ex: a phone ringing).

Tips For Performance

  • There should be a nice balance between the sound effects person making the performer act, and the performer making the sound effects person act.
  • Awareness and not denying are integral!
  • The person on stage should make absolutely no sounds.
  • The sound effects person can go so far as to make voices, but they should be kept to a mumble. A Charlie Brown adult if you will, so as not to break up the surreality of the scene.

Version 2:

This version is a scene game.

Number Of Players

This game is for four people.

Suggestions Taken

A suggestion such as a relationship or location is taken from the audience.

How It Is Played

Two players on stage begin a scene as normal, and two people off stage are assigned one of the performers to do sound effects for. These two people react to everything that happens with objects on stage, making sounds of a cup break when it's dropped, or a siren in the distance, etc. The performers on stage both react to the sounds that are made, and also cause sounds to be made by interacting with objects. Unlike in the first version, in this one the people on stage will interact with each other and make characters like in any other scene. The sound effects people are not in charge of voices.

Tips For Performance

  • Use physicality to communicate what you are handling on stage.
