This game is a scene game.
Number Of Players
This game is played with exactly 4 players.
One suggestion is taken for this game, often times called a "seed word", as it is the basis for all the scenes in the game (see below). The best suggestions for this game are simple root words that have multiple meanings or interpretations, sometimes suggested as a "1st grade word". Examples include "bat", "tank", or "king".
How It Is Played
Four performers stand center stage, arrayed like the four corners of a square. At the host's call of "right" and "left", the array of performers rotates clockwise and counterclockwise, respectively (hence the name of the game). Each pair of performers creates a brand new scene based on the seed word from the audience. The host then switches between the scenes, which may or may not move forward in time.
Tips For Performance
- An easy way to remember the movement order is to imagine the rotation from the viewpoint of the front two players - they move left or right.
- Diversity of scenes is key. Try to take the seed word and find homophones, slant rhymes, or other variants to bring new scenes to life.
- When rotating, the newest member of the scene typically starts, as they have had more time to think about the suggestions.
