They’re Too Old For This Ship

The Ship of Fools are feeling a mixture of excitement and utter terror at the thought of losing two of our seniors to the big, bad, adult world.

Yes, loves, in May, we are bidding “fairwell” and “good luck” to Becky “Cha Cha” Krause, and Leah “Vinyl” Hedrick.

WHEN
Friday, April 4th, 2014

WHERE
Matthews Hall, Room 210

TIME
8:30 P.M.

See, I told you everything would be back to normal before you knew it.

So, we’re about to say a bunch of mushy stuff about our retirees, so if you don’t want to cry, we suggest you look away at this time. Just remember the time and date of the show, and join the Facebook event.

Dear Becky and Leah;

During your time in the troupe, each of you have left a distinct mark on the history of the Ship of Fools. Each of you have left us with some great memories, and we cannot thank you enough for them.

Now we have to watch you leave and go into the real world. Whether you go sailing across the world, or just across the Wabash, our performances will never be the same without you.

Keep in touch, visit when you can, and try to bring joy to whoever you meet.

Upright Citizens Brigade TourCo at Purdue!

The Purdue Improv Club is pleased as punch to announce that we will be hosting the Upright Citizens Brigade TourCo here at Purdue University!

WHEN:

Friday, February 28th
8:30 PM
WHERE:
Fowler Hall in Stewart
WHY:
To watch FANTASTIC improv!

Hailing from The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, the most renowned comedy theatre and school in the nation, the UCB TourCo cast is hand-picked from the best improv comedians in New York and Los Angeles to put on an hour of completely unscripted comedy that is truly awesome in every sense of the word.

UCBatPurdue

The UCB TourCo represents the “next-wave” in comedy, proven by the fact that in the past the group has counted Jack McBrayer (30 Rock), Horatio Sanz (Saturday Night Live), Bobby Moynihan (Saturday Night Live), Ellie Kemper (The Office), Rob Riggle (The Daily Show), and Zach Woods (The Office) among its ranks.

All of that amazing-ness, and the Purdue Improv Club is hosting it! Doesn’t that make us pretty amazing, too? We like to think so.

Join the Facebook event and invite everyone you know to it!

Final 2013 Open Forum!

The fall 2013 semester is coming to a close! With it, another successful semester of Purdue Improv Club fun! Now, this Friday is all about having a good time, and celebrating such a great fall. As always, everyone is welcome!

Finale

The Purdue Improv Club has been really proud of how involved our members have become in the improv community! Our Saturday workshops, run primarily by Kyle Reeves, have been flourishing, and we are seeing some great things from attendees. Four of our active members have audition for, and successfully joined, two improv troupes on campus this semester alone. Billy Louie and Emily Gruss, who joined our very own Ship of Fools, and Jason Taylor with Mohammad Abdullah Najam joined our cohorts over in Ad Liberation! And, now more than ever, Open Forum is a stress free environment for anyone to try improv comedy!

There is a Facebook event page devoted to making sure everyone has a blast! Please post any and all suggestions you have for games that should be played, either on that event page, or post a comment here.

Luke and Adam: You are both wonderful people and performers, and we love you both very much. We wish that we could stay with us forever, but we realize it’s time to go out on your own. Though life will take you all over the seven seas, we will keep in contact, and remember all the amazing times we have had.

We wish you the best of luck and know you will do great things with any of the endeavors you both pursue.

Love,
